The first AIM Inc. machine produced repeatable and highly accurate
parts fast and efficiently. The AccuSpiral, the only CNC wire forming
machine allowing automatic programming for flat spiral shapes,

include over 35 models of 2D and 3D CNC benders, including single head
benders and double head benders.
The modular machine construction technique AIM Inc. employs provides
unprecedented machine upgrade flexibility and versatility. 2D machines
are able to manufacture rectangular frames as large as 72” (1828mm) by
simply changing frame modules. Both 2D and 3D machines can expand to
accommodate accessory machine modules. These include chamfering, butt
welding, end forming, drilling, marking, threading, and press
operations. Many of these modules are offered in-line, allowing for
turn-key end product manufacturing.

NEW AFC Compact 3D CNC Bender
Each AccuForm compact CNC wire bending machine can currently
have up to 3 motion axes, depending on the machine configuration. These
machines take wire directly from coil, straighten it, bend it, and cut
it to create wire products designed with the use of AIM’s exclusive
software package. SmartEditor® provides flexibility and
simplicity in setup. Programming is quick and easy. All you need is to
enter the lengths and angles of your product, view the design, edit if
necessary, and begin production!
AIM uses the world’s predominant servo system. Depending on machine
size, feeding speeds may exceed 75 meters per minute (295 feet/minute)
and bending speeds may exceed 900 degrees per second. The smallest
resolution of the wire feeder is 273 pulses per millimeter (6.93 pulses
per thousandth of an inch) and the resolution of the bender is 1450
pulses per degree. The published accuracy of the servo controllers that
we use is ±1 pulse, the length accuracy is ±0.1 millimeter (±0.004")
and the angle accuracy is ±0.05 degrees. Accuracy and repeatability of
AIM machines are exceptional, so the wireforms produced will only be
limited by the quality and consistency of the wire supplied.
Parabolic and S-curve positioning profiles give smoother acceleration
and deceleration, minimizing shape distortion while achieving higher
speeds at minimum possible power usage. Furthermore, the exclusive AIM
Ultra option can in most cases double or triple the production rates
from the standard models and grants the AIM equipment the title of the
highest working speeds in the market.

AFM-xDHx Machine Description
The AFM-xDHx line of equipment is designed with the old four-slide
technology in mind but without the time consuming intricate
setups, costly tooling and the need for an expert operator. The DH
in the model number stands for “Double Head” which means that the
machine has two individual bending heads. Each bending head
positions along a straight wire and bend it according to
A wire feeder module feeds the wire through a straightener and
cuts to user pre-defined lengths. These straight pieces are placed
in a hopper mechanism, which supplies the benders. An automatic
gripper, that optionally (3D option) can rotate, holds the
straight wire while it is getting bent. After the part is
complete, it is ejected to a part holder or an optional robotic
“Pick & Place” arm.
Bending Heads, Hopper and Cutting unit: Each bending head
is an independent system controlled by a bend axis and a linear
position axis capable of reaching speeds of up to 5m/s and
acceleration rates of over 4 g’s. Each side, left and right,
belong to independent coordinate systems for production
flexibility and speed. They can be synchronized or programmed

For size 1 we use a pneumatic actuated cutting system. For sizes 2
and 3 we use hydraulic cutting system, providing reliability and
longevity for high tensile and heavy cutting requirements. The
location of the cutting unit is manually adjustable in order to
provide flexibility on the production setup. It cuts the wire to a
pre-programmed length and then feeds it to a hopper.
